About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain focused on their tasks and maintain positive behaviour. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom interactions and provide support to students as they complete their work. This role is ideal for individuals considering a career in teaching or those with experience in educational settings.
Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classrooms, ensuring that students remain engaged in pre-set lesson activities.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials by the school's policies and curriculum.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, managing behaviour in line with school guidelines.
- Offer support and guidance to students as they complete their work.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff to provide feedback on student progress and behaviour.
- Uphold school policies and promote a safe, respectful and encouraging learning atmosphere.
Cover Supervisor (CS) Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or working with young people in an educational setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and the confidence to lead a class independently.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting student development.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
