We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to join our team in Middlesbrough. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the nursery, ensuring high-quality care and education for all children.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to a high-quality environment that meets the needs of individual children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and stimulating experiences based on children's needs and interests.
  • Provide comfort, warmth, and empathy to children and families requiring support.
  • Develop and enhance learning areas to spark children's curiosity.
  • Engage with parents regularly to form strong partnerships and ensure high levels of involvement and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate data and assessment records of children's learning and progress.
  • Prioritise safeguarding children and staff, following and acting upon safeguarding protocols effectively.
  • Manage the nursery through reflective practice, developing long-term and action plans to move the nursery forward.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, local authority, and OFSTED requirements.
  • Operate within budgetary constraints and maintain required standards and staffing ratios.
  • Work in partnership with early years professionals and agencies as required.
  • Monitor occupancy levels and proactively market the nursery.
  • Ensure Safer Recruitment Processes are followed for all staff, volunteers, and work placements.
  • Manage, lead, and develop all nursery staff, including performance management and staff development.
  • Ensure staff adhere to nursery policies, objectives, and code of conduct.
  • Maintain accurate records for all children and enable accurate financial and management reporting.
  • Promote and maintain our reputation for exemplary practice.
  • Oversee all aspects of Health & Safety within the workplace, including accident reporting, fire and evacuation procedures, first aid provision, and risk assessments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 4 Childcare qualification (CWDC Diploma, NNEB, BTEC, NVQ, CACHE) or equivalent.
  • At least 4 GCSEs at grade A-C, including English and Maths.
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate or willingness to undertake training.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a managerial position in a good or outstanding nursery.
  • Proven management experience with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to nurseries and the OFSTED inspection process.

Desirable:

  • Willingness to consider graduate or postgraduate training (Early Career Teacher).
  • Experience with Montessori materials and philosophies.
  • Successful track record of passing OFSTED inspections to good or outstanding levels.
