GSL Education are looking for a General Cover Teacher to work across a range of secondary schools in Middlesbrough. Whether you're a qualified teacher, an early career teacher (ECT), or an experienced educator, this role is perfect for those who enjoy teaching various subjects and working in different school environments.
About the Role:
As a General Cover Teacher, you'll step into classrooms across different subjects, deliver pre-planned lessons, and keep students engaged while maintaining a positive learning environment. You’ll help ensure that students' education continues smoothly during teacher absences.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects.
- Maintain good behaviour and follow the school’s behaviour policies.
- Adapt quickly to different subjects, year groups, and school environments.
- Support students' learning and keep them on track.
- Communicate with school staff to ensure consistency.
- Provide feedback on student progress where necessary.
- Follow safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching in UK secondary schools.
- Confident in teaching different subjects.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to build rapport with students quickly.
- An up-to-date CV (covering the last 10 years, with no unexplained gaps).
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
