A SEN school in Middlesbrough is seeking a support worker to assist students aged 4 to 19 with PMLD, ASC, and SEMH from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Candidates should have experience with personal care, feeding, and changing students, along with training in moving and handling.
Familiarity with Makaton and PECS is preferred, as well as experience in sensory play and managing challenging behaviors.
Strong communication skills and relevant healthcare or teaching assistant qualifications are necessary for this role.
The position requires a current DBS check or a willingness to apply for one, with a salary of £10-£12 per hour and prior experience in a similar role.

To support students with PMLD, ASC and SEMH in the classroom and in the community.

Experience with personal care, feeding, and changing students.
Trained in moving and handling.
Ability to work 1-on-1 and with groups of students.
Familiarity with Makaton (sign language system) and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) is preferred.
Experience in sensory play and experience of behaviours that challenge.
Strong communication skills.
Relevant healthcare or teaching assistant (TA) qualifications.
A current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
