We are seeking an agency worker to join our client’s innovative team for a 4–6-week period. As a Waste Operative, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the delivery of a high-performing waste transfer and recycling facility, with the goal of reducing waste, increasing recycling, and diverting waste from landfill.
Day to Day of the role:
- Perform a range of general semi-skilled tasks related to the collection, sorting, and disposal of waste.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all works meet agreed quality standards.
- Contribute to the effective and high-performing standard of the facility to improve sustainability and maintain the site’s appearance.
- Communicate with service users and ensure the site operates in line with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Drive and operate specialist equipment as needed, such as a telehandler and commercial weighbridge (training provided if necessary).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience within the waste industry.
- A flexible approach to delivering services in a commercial environment.
- Previous experience in operational frontline duties at a waste transfer site is ideal.
- Professionalism, collaboration, drive, and enthusiasm.
- Good communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience operating specialist equipment is beneficial but not essential.
