Final Inspection and Test Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Final Inspection Test Assistant to join our client’s team at a premier Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer. With a rich history spanning 40 years in machining, welding, and assembling critical subsea components and systems, we are at the forefront of our industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Quality and Operations team, ensuring that all items are in compliance with customer specifications and fostering positive relationships with internal and external customers.

Hours of Work:

  • 38 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 7.30am to 4pm with a 30-minute lunch break
  • Friday: 7.30am to 1.30pm

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Facilitate inspection activities between the shop floor and quality control.
  • Compile and verify information accurately into reports, presentations, forms, and office systems such as databases or spreadsheets.
  • Communicate with key internal stakeholders in a timely manner to adjust business operations to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintain professional communication with internal and external customers.
  • Identify and manage priority issues while demonstrating the ability to work under pressure.
  • Perform tests including external/internal hydrostatic, assembly of test components, and complete all documentation associated with client/in-house testing.
  • Set up parts for Post Weld Heat Treatment and conduct Hardness Testing.
  • Ensure the integrity of computerised data created, held, and used by the business.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be mechanically minded with previous manufacturing environment experience. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team to tight deadlines but equally capable to work individually.
  • Knowledge of inspection and testing procedures.
  • Able to contribute to a Right 1st Time culture.
  • Competency in using databases, spreadsheets, and compiling reports.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and good housekeeping.
