The Project
As an experienced M&E Project Manager, you will play a crucial role overseeing a £30m M&E package on a £250m industrial project based in Teesside. Your role will have a strong focus on quality checking, commissioning and ensuring the MEP packages are delivered to the highest possible standards and in line with all safety regulations.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
- SMSTS
- CSCS / JIB / ECS
- First Aid - Desirable not essential
It is also essential that you hold the experience below;
- Proven industry expertise with a track record of successfully managing mechanical and electrical packages on medium - large scale projects
- Experience working on projects within industrial / energy sectors is advantageous but not essential, all applicants with a strong mechanical and engineering background on sizable projects are of interest
- Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in an M&E Project Manager position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractor

The Role

Duties
- Provide expert mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Verify that all M&E work adheres to local codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Perform routine site inspections to assess progress and resolve any issues or delays
- Oversee and guide project teams to promote effective collaboration and performance
- Offer guidance and support to team members to cultivate a productive work environment
- Compile and deliver regular project updates and reports to management and stakeholders
- Coordinate with other Project Managers and teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Implement health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address design issues and optimize system performance
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain advantageous agreements
- Conduct inspections and tests to verify that systems are functioning correctly before project completion
- Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment, and subcontractor services related to M&E installations
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and team members regarding project status and any related issues
- Identify potential risks associated with M&E systems and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on the project
- Establish and enforce quality control measures for M&E installations, to guarantee that all work complies with the necessary specifications and standards
- Supervise the on-site installation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring that all work adheres to safety regulations, meeting quality standards
- Review and approve design documents for mechanical and electrical systems, overseeing compliance with industry standards and regulations
