Project Manager

Purpose of the role:
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to lead on the procurement, management, and delivery of multi-million-pound government funded capital installation projects to solve the greatest challenges of our time. The successful candidate will work across the Institute and manage the schedule, procurement, budget, communication, issues, and risks of projects. It is their job to make sure the project management frameworks are well-organised and that they run smoothly and on time, and to budget. This will include communicating with various departments within the organisation and external partners involved in the project to ensure alignment across all stakeholders. We are seeking an experienced, flexible, and self-motivated individual who is able to effectively communicate with experts across a range of fields.Â
Main Duties and Responsibilities
•   Drive project progress and create project status reports for all stake holders including government funding bodies.
•   Develop and implement milestones and delivery plans and support the consortium on the delivery strategy.Â
•   Assist with resource scheduling so that team members have the resources they need to complete their tasks.
•   Schedule stakeholder meetings and facilitate communication across a range of stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
•   Drive the procurement of the required capital investments.
•   Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to promote projects, and develop and maintain effective working relationships with external organisations.
•   Be the decision maker on logistics and materials management
•   Ownership of the project plan and project systems including (but not limited to):
o   Change management
o   Marketing and media awareness
o   Budget
Person Specification & Experience
•   Experience of delivering multi-stakeholder projects, ideally grant funded
•   Experience of managing procurement of multi-million pound capital investment
•   Management of projects in excess of £5m per annum
•   Familiar with innovate funding process, consortium management
•   Knowledge of heavy/foundation industries and/or construction industry materials
•   Sub-contractor management, tendering, and procurement experience  Â
•   Excellent communication skills and presentation skills
•   Excellent stakeholder management
•   Ability to draft complex documents including scientific data for publication
•   Proven interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of people
•   Excellent IT skills
•   Excellent organisational skills  Â
