They work with the most vulnerable children, who have a complex range of physical and/or mental health difficulties, helping them to re-set their learning journey to achieve better outcomes and to improve their life chances in the short and longer term.Job Description:To promote the achievement and wellbeing of children and young people, especially those with Special Educational Needs and/or other barriers to their learning and development. Under the direction of the Head of School they will deliver a full range of generic psychological services covering consultation, assessment, intervention, research and training functions to support the development of pupil attainment and wellbeing. They will offer parents/carers support and guidance in understanding and meeting the needs of their children/young people to promote their achievement and wellbeing.

  • Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations.
  • Developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Providing counselling and support to students, parents, and staff and building relationships
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to create supportive learning environments.
  • Delivering training and workshops on mental health and educational strategies.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest research and best practices in educational psychology.
  • Work within a leadership team across the MAT
  • Support the Head and Deputy Head of School to establish an outstanding school and drive continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • A recognised qualification in Psychology
  • Successful completion of a recognised post-graduate training course in Educational Psychology
  • Experience of carrying out psychological assessments and interventions in a variety of educational settings
  • Experience of attendance at multi-agency meetings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.
