Reed Procurement and Supply Chain are working in partnership with a leading manufacturing company who are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Buye to join the team. This role is crucial for managing the procurement of materials, goods, and services across our UK and EU sites, ensuring seamless supply chain operations. This role will engage in strategic sourcing, supplier onboarding, cost negotiation, and risk mitigation, all while maintaining compliance with company and procurement policies. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage procurement processes for  UK and EU sites, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company approval policies and objectives.
  • Prepare purchase orders of raw materials, consumables, and supplies through NetSuite following established procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while ensuring compliance with site regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory levels, lead times, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Prepare supply analysis, detailed reports, and KPI measurements to track procurement efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reductions, supplier consolidation, and other value-added objectives.
  • Assess supply risks and implement mitigation strategies, addressing issues proactively.
  • Monitor supplier performances to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with company objectives and contract requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and EU procurement regulations, trade laws, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to inventory control and cycle count activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including mathematics and English, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing preferred.
  • 3+ years in purchasing or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and organization skills.
  • Familiarity with UK and EU trade regulations and procurement best practices.
  • Must have strong problem-solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Required proficiency with ERP systems – NetSuite preferred, MS Office tools (especially advanced level expertise with Excel).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to present information effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with demonstrated self-initiative.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate good judgement and make effective decisions based on facts and information at hand.
