Control Systems Engineer – Staff – Teesside

Location: North East

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading cleantech, renewable and alternative energy company involved in the development of world leading green energy fuel plant. The role will be supporting the DCS and Instrumentation assets during detailed design, construction, commissioning and then the operations of the plant. Strong experience in Emerson Delta V is essential.

Role & Responsibilities

  • The role will be site based and will be a combination of working in an office environment and also supporting operational elements of the plant.
  • Supporting the DCS and Instrumentation assets during detailed design, construction, commissioning and then the operations of the plant.
  • Supporting the planning, root cause analysis, continuous improvements of all C&I elements of the plant while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Managing various types of projects including installation and modifications of complete and complex C&I systems.
  • Supporting the development of C&I plans for the construction, commissioning and then operation of the plant.
  • Using strong knowledge of Emerson Delta V to support design and implementation of C&I philosophies.
  • Working with contractors and OEM suppliers, including - work permits, RAMS, etc.
  • Acting as a Technical Lead - troubleshooting technical problems focusing on root cause analysis.
  • The day to day role will include some indirect people management responsibility from the Project and Maintenance requirements.
  • Analysing data to compile engineering reports.
  • Improving OEE & Engineering downtime.
  • Support for shutdowns, planned and unplanned.
  • Assist the Plant and the Operations Managers with optimising the process during operational trials.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Relevant qualification (HNC / HND or above).
  • Strong experience in Emerson Delta V is essential.
  • Boiler / steam experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Previous experience supporting the design, construction and commissioning of major energy plants is essential.
  • Extensive Industrial Plant / Process Industry Maintenance.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport essential - SSTS/SMSTS cards would be an advantage.
