GSL Education are seeking an active Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in a magnificent secondary school in Middlesbrough. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in students' academic and personal development.

About the Role:
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a key role in supporting teachers and students to ensure the smooth delivery of lessons and an engaging learning experience. Your dedication and adaptability will help create an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA) Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students across a range of subjects, tailoring assistance to their individual needs.
  • Assist teachers in lesson preparation, classroom management and the implementation of effective teaching strategies.
  • Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages learning and confidence.
  • Help students with varying abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN), to overcome challenges and reach their potential.
  • Monitor and record student progress, offering constructive feedback to staff and parents as required.
  • Support the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-age students or in a similar educational setting is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of the secondary school curriculum and the ability to adapt to various subjects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff alike.
  • A proactive, patient and empathetic approach to supporting learners.

To Work with GSL Education, you Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
