Job Title: Support Workers for Young People with Disabilities and Learning Difficulties
Location:Â Stoke
Rate of Pay: £12.00 per hour (plus rolled-up annual leave)
Mileage:Â 45p per mile, 50p per mile when transporting a young person or colleague
Hours:Â Flexible, 18.5 hours split over 2 1/2 days' work.
Role Overview:Â We are seeking dedicated and passionate support workers to assist young people aged 0-25 with disabilities and/or learning difficulties, and their families. Our ideal candidates are highly motivated and committed to engaging, supporting, and empowering young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Short Break Provision:Â Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support within the community, schools or at home.
- Outreach Support:Â Offer 1:1 or 2:1 support to young people not currently in full-time education, during term-time weekdays.
- SEND Youth Groups:Â Work within youth groups, maintaining a ratio of 1 staff member to 3 young people, with a maximum of 9 young people per session, on Saturdays and during school holidays.
Requirements:
- Excellent writing, recording, and IT skills; organized, methodical, and accurate in daily tasks.
- Ability to engage with children, young people, families from diverse backgrounds, and professionals involved in their care.
- Awareness of safeguarding vulnerable children and adults.
- Capability to meet the medical, physical, emotional, and personal needs of young people, including managing behavior and providing personal care (feeding, toileting, showering, etc.) as detailed in care plans.
