Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in a care home setting, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with residents to implement care plans, assist with daily activities, and foster a supportive environment that promotes independence and dignity.

Duties

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals in daily living activities, including meal preparation and medication management.
  • Communicate effectively with residents to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.
  • Supervise residents during activities to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions.
  • Drive residents to appointments or social activities as required.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere within the care home by encouraging social interaction and participation in group activities.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
  • Experience in senior care or working within a care home environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
  • Leadership qualities to supervise and motivate fellow staff members when necessary.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents as needed.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential attributes for success in this role.
