About Us:Randstad is partnering with Middlesbrough Council to recruit a dedicated and experienced Connected Carers Social Worker for a permanent role.

Job Description:As a Connected Carers Social Worker, you will work with families and children in need of care, focusing on the assessment, approval, and support of connected carers. You will ensure that children placed with kinship carers receive the necessary care and support in a safe and stable environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of connected carers to determine their suitability to care for children within their family network.
  • Provide ongoing support, supervision, and guidance to approved connected carers, ensuring they have the resources needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Develop care plans that address the needs of children and ensure that their welfare is promoted in the placement.
  • Work collaboratively with children, carers, and professionals from various agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with legal requirements and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience in fostering, kinship care, or children's services.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and fostering regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships with carers, children, and professionals.
