We are seeking a dedicated Fostering Retention Social Worker to join our team in Middlesbrough. This role is essential in providing support and retaining foster carers, ensuring they feel valued and have the necessary resources to offer the best possible care to foster children.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Provide emotional and practical support to foster carers, helping them navigate through challenges.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions to aid foster carers in their professional development.
  • Offer guidance and support during crises to manage difficult situations effectively.
  • Implement retention strategies to ensure foster carers feel recognized and supported within the community.
  • Act as a liaison between foster carers and the fostering service, maintaining clear communication and addressing any concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A recognised qualification in social work and registration with the relevant social work body.
  • Experience in fostering or a related field, with a focus on support and retention of carers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide support and training.
  • Ability to handle crises and implement effective retention strategies.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and best practices in fostering services.
