About Us:
Randstad is working closely with Middlesbrough's Fostering Team to recruit a dedicated Fostering Retention Social Worker for a permanent role.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team, ensuring that foster carers receive the guidance, resources, and support they need to provide long-term, high-quality care for children.

Job Description:
As a Fostering Retention Social Worker, your main focus will be on retaining foster carers and enhancing the stability and quality of foster placements.
You will work with both new and experienced foster carers, ensuring they feel supported and confident in their role, ultimately improving outcomes for the children in their care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring they have the tools needed for successful placements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve foster carer retention and reduce placement breakdowns.
  • Work closely with fostering and children's services teams to monitor the quality of foster care placements.
  • Provide guidance and advocacy for foster carers, helping them navigate challenges and ensure the well-being of the children in their care.
  • Attend and contribute to reviews, support groups, and multi-agency meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in fostering, adoption, or a similar area within children's services.
  • Strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with foster carers, children, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Passion for improving the quality of foster care and ensuring the long-term retention of foster carers.
