The CompanyNigel Wright Supply Chain and Procurement Team are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative design and manufacturing business in the Teesside area to recruit a Procurement Manager.The RoleThe Procurement Manager will manage and mentor a small team and will have full Procurement and Supply Chain responsibility for multiple sites.  Key elements of the role will include:-
  • Strategic sourcing, contract negotiations
  • Acting as Procurement Lead on NPD projects
  • Resourcing and dual sourcing for key commodities and components to secure the Supply Chain, mitigating risk for growth forecast
  • Ensuring correct flow of materials for manufacture, at the right time, of optimal quality and competitive cost
  • Managing a dynamic demand and thus changeable material flow
  • Devising and implementing key process improvements in terms of Supply Chain, Planning and Purchasing best practice
  • Supplier-/contract performance management
About YouThe successful Procurement Manager will have/be:
  • Experienced in managing broad portfolio of spend across Directs and Indirect, from within Manufacturing/Engineering 
  • NPD/Project management skills advantageous
  • Procurement experience from within a Manufacturing and/or Engineering environment essential
  • Supportive mentor and team manager, collaborative approach
  • Resilient, assertive, strong communicator, confident in engaging, communicating and building relationships cross functionally with internal/external stakeholders of all levels 
  • Good knowledge of Procurement best practice with a strategic, commercial and continuous improvement mindset
  • Able to adopt both a strategic and hands on approach
  • Accustomed to leading sourcing activity from RFQ creation through to contract negotiation and supplier onboarding
  • Able to work at pace in a dynamic environment, adaptable to changing priorities and requirements
