About the Role:We are currently seeking a Fleet Fitter to join our team within the Central Transport Organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient maintenance and servicing of our vehicle and plant fleet, ensuring that our operations run smoothly. You will work under the supervision of the Operations Manager (Transport) to provide essential vehicle maintenance, including fleet servicing and MOT testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and Repair Fleet: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and plant equipment.
  • MOT Testing: Conduct MOT testing to ensure all vehicles meet required legal standards.
  • Vehicle Fitter Administration: Maintain accurate records related to fleet servicing and repairs.

Key Contacts:

  • Internal: Work closely with the Operations Manager (Transport), Transport Manager, and other service users across the Council.
  • External: Communicate with members of the public, suppliers, manufacturers, and government departments.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
  • Take steps to maintain your own health and safety, and that of your colleagues and others impacted by your work.
  • Follow all relevant safety guidelines and cooperate with management in implementing the Health and Safety Policy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in vehicle and plant maintenance.
  • Experience conducting MOT testing.
