Role Overview:
This position focuses on supporting Engineering and Operations teams through continuous improvement, project delivery, and equipment maintenance. You'll lead new capital projects, optimize existing processes, and provide technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Oversight: Manage maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and budget targets are met.
  • Planning & Execution: Coordinate and deliver electrical maintenance tasks in collaboration with the Engineering Manager to improve site productivity.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise Technicians and contractors, ensuring effective execution of planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance, including diagnostics and repairs.
  • Breakdown Support: Provide timely responses to equipment breakdowns across all sites, including on-call support.
  • Control Systems Management: Maintain, repair, and optimize PLC, SCADA, HMI, and drive systems, while managing critical spares and backups.
  • Collaboration: Participate in daily workload reviews, corrective action planning, and reporting on maintenance KPIs. Support financial planning with the Engineering Manager.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance processes while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: HNC minimum; Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in heavy industry with leadership responsibilities.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise with PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and drive systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley).
    • Strong knowledge of AC/DC drives, variable frequency drives, and closed-loop control systems.
    • Experience with monitoring and commissioning vibration/temperature detection systems.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and control diagrams.
  • IT Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CMM systems (e.g., Synchro).
  • Leadership: Exceptional communication and organizational skills for managing teams and contractors effectively.
