A skilled HGV Fitter is wanted to join a leading employer on Teesside, where you'll play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet and ensuring our operations run smoothly.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- Experience: Proven experience as an HGV Fitter, with a strong understanding of HGV mechanics and diagnostics.
- Qualifications: Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline like HGV Maintenance, Motor Mechanics etc.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of HGV systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Diagnostic Skills: Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot faults effectively.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A knack for finding creative solutions to complex mechanical challenges.
- Teamwork: A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
- Driving Licence: A valid HGV license is preferred but not essential.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a variety of HGV vehicles. From engines and transmissions to brakes and suspension, you'll tackle it all.
- Performing routine maintenance checks and services to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Identifying and troubleshooting complex faults, getting vehicles back on the road quickly and efficiently.
- Conducting thorough inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and comply with regulations.
- Working with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining accurate records of all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
