Manufacturing plant location - Middlewich, Cheshire
Due to continued business growth and investment, we are looking to expand our commercial team with a motivated and tenacious B2B Field Sales Representative. This is a hybrid role and the manufacturing plant is located in Middlewich within easy access of the M6 motorway.
This exciting opportunity will typically suit someone from an internal sales background looking to move into the field or an early career candidate with relevant B2B sales experience looking for a progressive role within the global chemicals sector.

A leading manufacturer of chemical specialties offering over 200 products including foam control agents, high-performance lubricants, surface coatings, release agents, and silicone emulsions. Our client has been manufacturing chemical solutions in Cheshire for over 30 years and supplies customers across the globe with off-the-shelf products and bespoke solutions tailored to their unique requirements.
Role summary;
Reporting into the UK Sales Manager, this is a hands-on role within a rapidly growing specialty chemical manufacturing business. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar B2B sales role with a track record of developing and executing sales strategies to grow product sales performance and profit. The successful candidate will be a motivated self starter, proactive by nature and customer focused, with the drive and ability to operate in the field with minimum supervision throughout the UK. The role offers an established territory and good career path into a global commercial role for the successful applicant.
Experience/Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years B2B sales experience in the chemical industry with a manufacturer or Distributor
- Degree qualification in chemistry/chemical engineering or related technical subject
- Experience / knowledge of the full 360 sales process an advantage
- Knowledge/experience in the field of surfactants, antifoam agents, silicone emulsions is desirable
- Experience in applications such as water treatment, coatings, construction, printing, food & beverage or adhesives is desirable
- Experience in B2B sales or account management and business development activities, upselling, cross-selling etc
- Credible customer facing skills, highly organised with strong time management skills, commercial acumen and the ability to build trusted business relationships
- A tenacious and proactive self-starter, who is results driven with a genuine passion for sales and excellent communication skills
- Valid UK Drivers License essential and willingness to travel up to 50% of your time to meet customers
Key Responsibilities;
- Service and further develop existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, etc
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Identify the UKs emerging markets and market shifts while maintaining awareness of new products and competition status
- Maintain a strong awareness of competitor status, products, activity, pricing, market trends, marketing techniques/activities
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Represent the company at Industry specific events and remain knowledgeable of key market and industry trends
- Manage sales pipeline to drive new business opportunities and meet agreed objectives
