HOME BASED SALES &ACCOUNTMANAGER UK & EUROPE - SPECIALTY CHEMICALS
THE COMPANY
A leading manufacturer of chemical specialties offering over 200 products including foam control agents, high-performance lubricants, surface coatings, release agents, silicone emulsions. We have been manufacturing chemical solutions in Cheshire for over 30 years and supplies customers across the globe with off-the-shelf products and bespoke solutions tailored to their unique requirements.
THE ROLE
Reporting into the Business Development Manager your primary task will be to retain and build on an existing customer base, proactively manage accounts, and secure new business in existing and new markets (UK & Europe territories tbc) across all business sectors. This is a demanding sales role that requires regular travel in the UK and Europe so the successful candidate must have a positive self-starting attitude, tenacity, a commercial hunter mindset, and drive to improve customer perception.
- Management and growth of existing accounts (upselling, cross-selling, share-of-wallet) whilst using appropriate routes-to-market to develop new accounts
- Identify and propose new business areas (products and emerging markets) that would strategically fit with our core strengths
- Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and the companys reach within the UK/Europe.
- Maintain a strong awareness of competitor status, products, activity, pricing, market trends, marketing techniques/activities
- Represent the company at Industry specific events and remain knowledgeable of key market and industry trends
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process and company marketing and strategy planning
- Manage sales pipeline to drive new business opportunities and meet agreed objectives
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic background in chemistry or related technical/science subject is highly desirable
- Typically,10+ years experience in B2B sales and key account management in the specialty chemicals sector (distribution or manufacturing)
- Experience in B2B sales/account management in mainland Europe a plus
- Experience in identifying and managing distributor networks an advantage
- Knowledge of the specialty chemicals industry (UK & Europe) specifically anti-foam agents, surfactants, silicone emulsions etc an advantage
- Knowledge of product applications for water treatment, coatings, food & beverage, adhesives, construction, manufacturing or printing an advantage
- Demonstrable value selling, and consultative selling skills leading to success in a 360 sales process
- A positive self-starter with strong commercial acumen, energy, tenacity and a commercial hunter mindset, to improve customer perception are all key
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills
- Additional European language skills highly desirable
- Ability to travel freely and a commitment to CPD
REMUNERATION
- 25 days holiday (increasing by 1 per year up to 28 days) + bank holidays
