We are seeking a motivated General Assistant with an FLT License to join a well-established business in Mildenhall. In this role, you will support the line manager in ensuring exceptional service for equipment hire, completing all depot transactions safely, efficiently, and accurately, in line with company policies and customer requirements. You will also be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining equipment to meet specified quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment for hire, ensuring it is well-maintained and ready for use.
- Operate counterbalance or multi-directional forklifts to load/unload vehicles, move, prepare, and store equipment (FLT license highly advantageous).
- Accurately pick, return, and scan equipment, identifying stock overages or shortages.
- Safely load and unload equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Clean equipment using a pressure washer.
- Inspect, service, and repair hire equipment and depot assets to company standards.
- Use pneumatic/electrical hand tools (full in-house training provided).
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate service/inspection records.
- Occasionally drive the depot van as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A valid, full, clean driving licence is highly desirable.
- A valid FLT (counterbalance) license is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using scanners, PDAs, tablets, and computers.
- A reasonable level of fitness is required.
- Knowledge of the shoring or hire industry is a plus.
