Adept:us is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for a Wiltshire based client who operate in the Aerospace / Defence industry.

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in Process Improvement, Assembly Instructions, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to join our clients dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will focus on optimising manufacturing processes, maintaining the highest quality standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Your proficiency in GD&T will be critical in developing and refining precise technical specifications, ensuring parts and assemblies meet both design and functional requirements.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, focusing on process improvement and GD&T application.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge and practical experience with GD&T standards (BS 8888).
  • Process Optimisation: Familiarity with methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent techniques for process improvement.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to review and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Quality Systems: Experience with quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced Manufacturing: Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing, 5-axis CNC machining, and wire EDM.
  • Composites Expertise: Familiarity with composite manufacturing and assembly methods.

 

Desirable Attributes:

  • ERP / MRP Systems: Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or material requirements planning (MRP) systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Hands-on experience in metalworking, machining, or related manufacturing processes.
  • Driving Licence: Possession of a valid full UK driving licence.
  • Professional Membership: Chartered Membership of a recognised Engineering Institution is highly desirable.
