Production Engineer (Assembly Department)

Mildenhall, Suffolk

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking experienced professionals to join their team. If you have a strong background in operating a variety of tool room and workshop machinery, along with 5-10 years of hands-on experience in a production assembly environment, this role could be an excellent fit for you.

The ideal candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship and possess 5-10 years of production experience, with a proven track record of thriving in a shift-based work setting. If you're ready to bring your expertise to a respected industry leader, we encourage you to apply.

Who are we?

Duties to Include:

  • To assist the Department Head in maintaining product output in the Assembly Area
  • Department.
  • To investigate and where possible offer suggestions for process improvements and/or cost reductions.
  • To assist in running Assembly Machines when necessary to maintain production output.
  • To assist in the training of new staff and progression training of existing staff.
  • To diagnose faults and repair Assembly Machines and associated Equipment.
  • To complete and update tasks using a Maintenance based software.
  • To provide assistance as and when required to any and all members of the Assembly Area team.
  • To provide assistance to Engineers from outside of the Assembly Area Department as and when required.
  • To assist with any other requirements associated with the Assembly Area Department.

What we are looking for:

  • 5-10 years experience within an assembly department.
  • A good mechanical aptitude.
  • The ability to diagnose faults associated with machine wear and product quality.
  • Experienced working 24/7 or at least on a shift basis.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001:2015
  • Strong communication skills to speak to all levels of the business.
  • Self-disciplined and motivated
