With 4 offices dotted around the UK our client is looking to add a competent and outgoing individual to their head office in Colchester, the current team is made up of experienced and enthusiastic Project Managers, Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, & Health & Safety Advisors, who work with clients large and small across all sectors of the market and throughout the UK.

The successful candidate will have at around 2 years' experience in the health & safety field, a confident approach and a sound working knowledge of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.

The role:

  • Fulfilling the role of Principal Designer as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and providing CDM advice and guidance to Clients/Designers.
  • Preparing Pre-Construction Information Packs, and Health & Safety Files.
  • Preparation of Construction Phase Plans
  • Carrying out Site Audits
  • Preparation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Policies and Operating & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Provision of support with accreditations (CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, etc.)
  • The ability to offer H&S & Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training (desirable).

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Association of Project Safety Membership
  • Proven track record of hands-on safety advice.
  • Thorough understanding of current health & safety and fire legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised, with the ability to balance competing priorities and workload.
  • Strong IT skills
  • A team player with a strong client focus who can motivate and inspire people to work safely.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Full driving licence.
