Commercial Director
Location: Walwyns Castle, Haverfordwest, SA62 3DY. (Will consider possibility of hybrid working)
Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5pm. Flexibility required during peak periods and to occasionally support out of normal working hours.
Our client, situated in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, specialises in high quality, high welfare, organic and free range poultry. Since 2021, they have been part of European Poultry giant, LDC group and are present in both the year-round and seasonal retail markets and also supply baby food manufactures.
The Role
They are looking for an experienced Commercial Director with a strong background in FMCG to join the Senior Management Team and lead on all of their commercial activities.
The Commercial Director will be responsible for driving the company's UK & Ireland commercial strategy, overseeing sales and marketing operations, NPD functions and ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met. They will have management responsibility for the commercial team and act as a key contact for existing retail customers such as M&S, Ocado, Sainsbury, Gail’s Bakery and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing the commercial team as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT)
- Act as senior company commercial contact for existing key retail customers – M&S, Ocado, Sainsbury, Wholefoods, Aldi, & Gails Bakery
- Responsibility for commercial strategy, sales and marketing operations to ensure sales and profit targets are delivered
- Understand and manage budget and forecasting process for all commercial areas.
- Development of strategy and implementation of group sales in UK market of European products
- To report daily, weekly and monthly in line with agreed commercial budgets and KPI’s.
- To ensure the company minimise waste and stagnant stock and maximise sales through a clear programme of profit engineering and seeking out new customer opportunities.
- Delivery of NPD and EPD in alignment with customer product development briefs and company capability.
- To work with the Planning Department to ensure the cycle of birds being placed and processed is in line with customer requirements.
- To co-ordinate with all departments to ensure the timely planning and delivery of customer seasonal peak requirements.
- To inform the business of market and customer trends, news and updates.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, customer and quality standards.
- Any other reasonable duty as requested by a manager and commensurate with the work level and own ability
