We’re looking for a qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our team at Thornton Garage for 8 weeks. You will carry out safety inspections and repairs on a range of vehicles, including vans, tippers, refuse lorries, and hiabs.
Key Duties
- Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy and light commercial vehicles in line with PCC and Department for Transport standards.
- Respond to breakdowns and assist with roadside recoveries.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT tests.
- Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota.
- Keep the workshop clean and organized.
Essential Skills
- Current valid driver’s licence.
- Qualified to City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a vehicle fitter.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- HGV/PSV driving licence.
- Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system repairs.
- Qualified MOT tester (Class 4, 5, and 7).
