AccountantLocation: Milton Keynes - Hybrid working available Pay: £35,000.00 - £45,000.00 per yearOverview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant with experience in an accountancy practice,  to join a small but perfectly formed Accountancy practice in North Milton KeynesThe ideal candidate will have experience in managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements within a practice setting and be used to dealing with multiple clients of varying size and industry.This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the growth of our firm and real opportunity for progression for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilise accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Excel, and Xero to maintain financial records.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, including VAT Returns and some management accounts.
  • Assist in financial management and budgeting activities.
  • Efficiently manage own time and client responsibilities.
  • Prepare year-end limited company accounts and corporation tax computations (or at least to trial balance level).
  • Handle self-assessment tasks for directors and sole traders.
  • Provide ad hoc accountancy services as needed.
  • Maintain a perfect telephone manner and strong written communication skills for effective correspondence via email.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.  Or educated to ACCA/ACA qualified standard
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills for interpreting financial data.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry practices.
