Financial Accountant

Milton Keynes - 3 Days On-Site

55,000 - 65,000 + Bonus

Our client, a rapidly growing tech business in Milton Keynes, is looking for a Financial Accountant to step into a role that has opened up due to an internal promotion. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to become part of a progressive finance team and work closely with the Financial Accountant Manager, who has been with the company for over three years following a successful career at a Big 4 firm.

This role is essential for delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic business decisions to drive the company's ongoing growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and review financial statements and regular reports, making sure everything is accurate and follows accounting rules.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and supporting audits, to ensure all financial records are complete and correct.
  • Help prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts, track and analyse any budget differences, and provide useful financial insights.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documents and improving internal controls to maintain accuracy and prevent fraud.
  • Prepare reports for regulatory bodies, making sure all financial regulations are met.
  • Examine financial performance, trends, and differences to offer insights and recommendations that support business decisions.
  • Help implement and refine financial systems and processes, ensuring that accounting software and tools are used effectively.
  • Handle VAT returns and corporation tax calculations, ensuring that everything complies with tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Work with different departments to gather financial information and clearly communicate financial results to management.

The ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA, qualified or newly- qualified, with a strong technical accounting background and a keen eye for detail.
