Based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire our global US owned client is looking for an Inventory Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. The role is working initially 4 days in the office, moving to 3 days in the future.

This job would suit someone with proven experience as an Inventory or Stock Accountant or in a financial accounting position in a business with significant stock movements, to be responsible for managing all inventory transactions and reporting whilst maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting financial operations.

This US listed business is a leader in their field with a turnover of c.$7Bn and, having recently acquired this £250M turnover business in the UK, is continuing to invest heavily in their growth. The business is a global e-commerce and consumer retail business in a truly exciting sector looking to bolster the finance team in some key areas.

The successful individual will have a strong track record of working with stock and inventory at the £Ms level ideally held across multiple locations (significant stock is held in UK, US and Italy). This individual will be strong in managing transactions, running audits, improving processes, accurate reconciliations and all monthly and annual close reporting.

Job responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory transactions, update general ledger as required, gather and analyse data, perform inventory audits and assessments, and produce regular inventory reports.
  • Develop or enhance all inventory process controls. Write or improve process documentation with current synopsis.
  • Research complex transaction histories to reconcile inventory discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Participate in cycle counts and full count inventories, coordinating all physical inventory activities. Ensure all inventory counts procedures follow all relevant internal control systems.
  • Provide accounting support to multiple company locations.
  • Submit routine inventory control related reports.
  • Support periodic and ad hoc reporting requests including external audit support, month/quarter/year-end close reporting, and forecast to actual analysis.
  • Assist in special projects; lead inventory problem-solving opportunities.
