The Management Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis of business operations, management accounts, budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and securing of new funding.

Description

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze variances between budget and actuals, identifying trends and providing explanations to senior management.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to gather input.
  • Support continuous rolling forecasts to ensure up-to-date projections that reflect current business realities.

Cost and Inventory Management:

  • Track and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and work with procurement and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accuracy in reporting.

Business Partnering:

  • Work closely with sales, operations, and marketing teams to support strategic decision-making with accurate financial insights.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations on business initiatives, promotions, and pricing strategies.
  • Analyze KPIs relevant to the FMCG sector, such as gross margin, SKU profitability, and product mix.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support senior leadership in making data-driven decisions.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field
  • Studying toward ACCA ACA or CIMA
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis
  • Understanding of business finance and performance metrics
