Description
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Support statutory reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
- Help with VAT, corporation tax returns, and other regulatory filings.
Reconciliations & Ledger Management
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including bank reconciliations.
Month-End & Year-End Support
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Assist in the year-end audit process by gathering and preparing financial data.
- Work closely with senior accountants to ensure smooth financial close processes.
Profile
A successful Assistant Financial Accountant should have:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field.
- Proficient knowledge in accounting software and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of credit control procedures and debt collection regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
- An analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
