Your Role:

You'll oversee a portfolio of clients, using cutting-edge software like Xero, Xavier, and ReceiptBank. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns through MTD and providing VAT advice.
  • Managing day-to-day financial transactions, reconciliations, and balance sheet ledgers.
  • Posting monthly journals (payroll, accruals, prepayments).
  • Reviewing debtors and creditors, investigating discrepancies, and producing trial balances.
  • Supporting managers with ad hoc project work.
  • Overseeing bookkeeping staff and managing outsourcing operations to India.

This role is full-time (5 days per week, 9am-5pm) with flexibility to work up to two days per week from home. Our client will also consider part-time hours (minium of 4 days) if preferred.

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified: AAT Level 3 or above, IAB, ICB, or ACCA part-qualified.
  • Experienced: Extensive practice experience with strong VAT knowledge.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Xero, Xero Apps, and Excel; familiarity with Autoentry, ReceiptBank, or Xavier is advantageous.
  • Organised: Meticulous, self-motivated, and commercially minded.
  • Personable: An excellent communicator with confidence in liaising with clients and senior management.
