Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Mathematics department across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver innovative and engaging lesson plans tailored to the diverse needs of students.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department, promoting best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement and close attainment gaps.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and aspirational culture within the department and across the school.
  • Stay abreast of curriculum changes and integrate modern teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and stakeholders to communicate student progress and celebrate successes.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities and initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong academic background in Mathematics or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5, with evidence of excellent outcomes.
  • Proven leadership or middle-management experience in a school setting (desirable).
  • Deep knowledge of the national curriculum and the ability to design engaging, challenging lessons.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, continuous professional development, and maintaining high standards in teaching.
  • Newly qualified teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply, as the school offers a robust induction program.
