Our client is a refurbishment contractor that mainly work on student accommodation projects around the UK.They're seeking aConstruction Manager to join theirteam based in Milton Keynes. This role is perfect for a technically astute professional with strong design knowledge and a proven ability to manage projects from tender through to live on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from inception through to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Work closely with design teams to provide technical input and ensure smooth design coordination.
  • Translate design concepts into practical solutions during the build phase.
  • Oversee the tender process, assist with bid preparation, and engage with contractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Lead the on-site team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of projects.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensure adherence to health and safety standards, and solve on-site challenges.
  • Act as the main point of contact between clients, architects, engineers, and the wider project team to ensure that expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Identify potential risks early in the project cycle and implement strategies to mitigate them.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager or similar role, ideally with a strong technical and design background.
  • Ability to manage projects from tender stage through to on-site delivery.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
