Job Description
Logistics People are actively hiring skilled HGV Shunters/HGV Class 1 Shunters/LGV Shunters/LGV Class 1 Shunters for full-time equivalent positions at our ESL Milton Keynes depot. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the biggest names in the HGV industry, operating the latest vehicles on the market and gaining the best driving experience available.
Requirements:
- 6+ months UK HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Valid HGV 1/C+E Licence
- No more than 6 points on your licence and no DD/DR convictions
- Current, valid DCPC & Tacho cards
- Familiar with Driver’s Hours, Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation, and thorough vehicle checks.
- Carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
- Comply with on-site health and safety requirements
Role Details
- Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday AM
- Pay Rate: £16.26 per hour
Duties
- Operate Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner within the premises
- Manoeuvre vehicles into loading and unloading bays according to schedules
- Perform pre-operational checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and drivers to coordinate movement of goods
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and promptly
- Assist with general yard duties and maintenance tasks as required
