Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers to understand all MHE needs and requirements in order to generate customised best in class systems concept designs.

Conduct site visits, assessments and data analysis of existing customer and industry data to ensure robust systems conceptualisation.

Conduct initial material flow analysis to understand system optimisations and to identify risk such as bottlenecking. Identify and address all technical challenges that may arise during the conceptualisation phase, working closely with engineering to find practical solutions.

Design, develop and deliver customised concept designs utilising 3D modelling and simulation tools to create accurate visual representations of proposed solutions.

Build and maintain strong supply chain relationships to ensure rigid technical equipment specification as well as managing the flow of costing information between us and the suppliers.

Build a quality gate between sales and engineering so as it is clear as to what criteria are required as inputs and outputs between the two departments.

Develop and manage a controlled tracker that is utilised for the purposes of rigidly monitoring the RFQ process.

Prepare detailed proposal presentations to deliver to our customers.

Prepare the internal sales to engineering handover documentation required for the project to transition to the engineering team. Stay up to date with customer and industry trends, emerging technologies and advancements in the world of advanced materials handling and automation.

Collaborate with engineering and the wider business to develop and enhance our products, focussing on improvement and innovation.

Contribute to the development of marketing materials used on a global level, specifically to provide visualisations and simulations of all core business sectors, with an emphasis on integrated systems, aligned to our marketing strategy.

Experience

Design of Integrated materials handling systems for a range of industries, specifically at the conceptualisation phase of a project (pre-sales).

Knowledge of best practice in engineering design and application and safety requirements withing an automation and material handling sectors.

Proficient in the application and use of 3D modelling software and simulations tools.

Solid foundation in engineering theory and application, with demonstratable experience in this area.

Proven experience in applications engineering through the sales cycle in integrated systems design.

Confident to attend customer meetings, site surveys and design reviews as well as leading internal meetings locally and globally.
