Our public sector client is in need of a Knowledge & Information Manager to support the delivery of two key technology projects within the organisation. One project is focused on the corporate implementation of M365 to the organisation, and the second is focused on the introduction of a new version of a secure system, which links to a system outside of the org.

Provide knowledge and information management support to two key critical technology projects. This includes:

  • Provision of advice and support to the projects on all aspects of knowledge andinformation management, including information rights, in line with legislation, public sector requirements and policies;
  • Creation of associated knowledge and information documentation as required to support the projects and the KIM Team to support formal assurance processes;
  • Act as interface between the KIM Team and projects;
  • Attend meetings to represent KIM in relation to supporting the two projects.
  • Implement Microsoft SharePoint configuration changes to specifications produced as part of the projects.

Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of information architecture, including use of taxonomies, standards, glossaries, metadata
  • Knowledge of information and records management: as a public sector body, these are subject to the Public Records Act
  • Knowledge of information rights, in particular data protection and freedom of information
  • Awareness of data/information governance
  • Ability to analyse, interrogate and evaluate data
  • Working knowledge of risk management and working within an organisational risk appetite
  • Knowledge of M365 and associated knowledge and information management functions within
  • Administrative experience implementing SharePoint Online information management solutions to support compliance and governance requirements in a corporate environment
  • Previous experience of working in a Knowledge and Information role within public sector and knowledge of the UK Government Security Classification scheme is desirable, but not essential.
