SUMMARY

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on digital transformation projects for the public sector, utilizing advanced Data Science tools and technologies.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As part of a cross-industry, collaborative team, you will be involved in the design, development, integration, testing, and ongoing support of digital transformation solutions. In this role, you'll apply your expertise in data science to help achieve client goals and contribute to intelligent systems powered by machine learning and AI.

You will also:

  • Fully engage in cross-functional collaboration, bringing your technical expertise to work with diverse teams.
  • Help shape proposals for new projects in data analytics and AI, writing detailed estimates and plans.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, gathering requirements and offering insights into business processes and innovative solutions.
  • Partner with academic and industry organizations to develop and implement cutting-edge methods and software solutions.
  • Share knowledge, expand your network, and be willing to take on challenges in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • A degree in a numerate discipline, with a strong emphasis on statistics.
  • High-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel (or similar tools).
  • Significant experience using PowerBI or Tableau (or comparable software).
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP), transformers, and handling large datasets.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Docker-Compose.
  • Confidence using Linux command-line tools.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and advanced analytical methods.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation skills-confident and persuasive.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written material quickly.
  • A fast learner, capable of adapting to new skills and environments.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) as a minimum.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in large-scale data mapping, migration, enrichment, profiling, and querying.
