This is an exciting, and rare opportunity to partner up with this successful company who work with some of the most prestigious and well-known names in the hospitality sector providing specialist procurement services to a wide range of hotels, restaurants, contract caterers, pubs and leisure groups.

This company provides business consultancy, advice, technology and hands-on support, maximising profitability for their clients by improving the way that products are sourced and managed.
They now have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Category Purchasing Manager to join their team to manage the day-to-day buying activity for their clients, working within their central Buying function. This role will entail developing strong supply relationships, category management, understanding the market conditions and negotiating supplier contracts within Food and Beverage industry.

This is a full-time role, office based in Milton Keynes with occasional travel throughout the UK.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skills:
Essential
  • Experience in Purchasing and ideally Food and Beverage
  • Category management Food or Beverages
  • Strong negotiator and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent level of IT competence including Microsoft Windows Software such as Excel
  • High level of numeracy and an analytical approach
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Ability to influence at a senior level

Desirable
  • Experience in the Hospitality and Out of Home eating market
  • Experience of supplier contracting and performance tracking
  • Experience of P2P systems
  • Proven ability to engage at a senior level
