Overview:

We are currently partnering with a leading engineering consultancy in the UK to recruit a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer for their Milton Keynes office. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong academic background and a passion for geotechnical engineering to join an innovative and highly regarded company. The successful candidate will work on a range of challenging infrastructure projects and will receive full support in their professional development, including towards achieving chartership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site investigations to evaluate ground conditions and gather geotechnical data
  • Assist in geotechnical analysis and design, including foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, and earthworks
  • Carry out soil and rock testing both in the field and in the laboratory
  • Use geotechnical software to analyze data and produce models for project designs
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and contribute to the production of detailed design documentation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and environmental engineers
  • Ensure that all work complies with current health and safety regulations and industry standards
  • Attend client meetings and site visits, providing technical support as required
Candidate Requirements:
  • A Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field from a top UK university
  • Excellent understanding of geology, geomorphology and geotechnics
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Willingness to travel to site locations and conduct fieldwork
  • Full indefinate leave to remain in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience:
  • Any internships, placements, or work experience in geotechnical engineering or civil engineering projects
  • Familiarity with UK regulations and standards such as Eurocode 7, British Standards, and geotechnical design codes
