Building Project Manager- £55k  

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Manager who has extensive experience in the maintenance and construction field to join us leading on projects across our HMO portfolio.

Hours: 9am – 5:30pm

Location: Great Linford, Milton Keynes

We are a privately owned care and supported housing provider predominantly covering the South. 

We are a progressive business with a clear vision, strong leadership, and ambitious growth plans. This would be a great move for someone with drive and passion – you could have considerable experience in overseeing ongoing building construction and refurbishments.

Main Responsibilities:

·       Full management of the site foreman, multiskilled tradesmen, labourers, and subcontractors on each project you are responsible for.

·       Ability to read and assess plans and drawings.

·       Drive a culture of continuous improvement, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for better efficiencies throughout the project cycle.

·       Manage health, safety, environmental and quality ensuring legal compliance and adherence to company standards. 

·       Regularly report on progress, detailing any issues or delays and action taken to rectify.

·       Full refurbishment of current and new properties with a team of skilled and unskilled labour.

·       Ensure all incidents and accident reports are completed within the allotted timescales and all actions recorded and assigned.

·       Able to work to budgets and source labour and materials at competitive prices.

·       Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and projects are completed on time and on budget.

About you:

·       Demonstrable experience of working on projects to strip back and refurbish properties to a compliant and quality finish.

·       Willing to roll your sleeves up and show the team how things can be completed to a high standard – lead by example!

·       A track record of managing developments to completion.

·       Possess a strong background in multisite building and refurbishment.

·       Utilise your commercial judgment and experience to balance risk, resolve conflicts, and find solutions that support long-term business benefits.

·       Experience and knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Act, Town& Country Planning, Health & Safety and Disability Discrimination Act requirements.

·       Full understanding of construction drawings and be able to show and explain this information to others to ensure the spec is followed correctly.

·       You should be familiar and have a working knowledge of systems to track all tasks and updates with regard to each project you are responsible for.

·       Have drive and motivation to achieve the desired result and be a firm but fair leader to get the best out of your teams.

·       IT skills are a must – Microsoft Office – Word, emails and our task management system which is called Asana would be a great benefit.

·       You would need to be a driver with your own car – mileage will be paid through expenses.
