This reputable design and build refurbishment Contractor specialise the refurbishment of prominently student accommodation across the UK working on bespoke joinery packages. Having thrived since being established this company have thrived since being established and have a clear 5 year growth plan increase turnover to 100M, in order to achieve this they have also started working on Commercial projects as well such as office works. This company are looking to streamline their design process by introducing a Design Manager into the team.This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Design Manager to join a brand new role within the business where you will have the opportunity to bring new idea's playing a pivotal role within a growing business and contributing to their success.In this role you will be responsible for overseeing seamless delivery of projects from RIBA stage 2 to 5. You will be responsible for managing external stakeholders such as Architects, Structural Engineers and Building Surveyors and overseeing drawings ensuring they're compliant with building regulations. You will lead design team meetings with the construction managers bridging the gap between building and construction assisting with any design queries and conducting quality checks.The ideal candidate will have a architectural technologist background with a strong understanding of Building and Architecture on refurbishment projects. You will be looking to take on a leading position on a variety of projects with progression opportunities.The Role:
- Managing the design process of refurbishment projects
- Liaising with external stakeholders (Architects, Structural Engineers, Building Surveyors)
- Conduct quality checks on projects
- Lead design team meetings
- Working on projects from concept through to completion
The Person
- Architectural Technical qualification
- Experience working on refurbishment projects
- Strong knowledge and experience of RIBA stages 3 - 5
- Full UK Driving License
