JOB TITLE                           -             Line Chef

RESPONSIBLE TO             -             Head of Catering

LOCATION                         -             Milton Keynes – Shenley Lodge & Grange Farm

TERMS                               -             Full Time- 38.5 Hours per Week (Must be flexible and be able to commit to shift patterns ranging from 7am-7pm between Monday to Sunday

RATE                                   -             £12.74 per hour

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • To ensure that food preparation meets all health and safety standards and PJ Care Ltd Policies and Procedures.
  • To assist Chefs, and to take responsibility of day to day cleaning tasks, washing up, general cleanliness of the kitchen on a daily basis.
  • To ensure that the heavy-duty kitchen equipment, light equipment, work areas, other facilities and general surroundings are maintained and operate to the standards required by the Statutory, Local Authority and Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations and company’s policies.
  • Ensure food quality is maintained from preparation to service to residents/visitors.
  • To develop and maintain good relationships with the residents, relatives and staff through regular contact giving information, support and advice whenever and as often as required

Skills and Experience 

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a chef
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
