Azure Data Engineer - £45,000 to £55,000 – Fixed Term Contract (2-years) Remote/ Milton keynes
Viqu have partnered with an organization who is at the full front of technology that is going through a large transformation program from on-prem to Azure Cloud and the company is looking to hire 2 experienced Azure Data Engineers to steer the direction of this migration.
The business currently works closely with a third-party supplier who manages the company's data and conducts any projects that are required, but they are now building a brand-new team to bring this service in house.
The Azure Data Engineer will be working with a focus on project work at 80% with BAU at 20% and benefit of working on a hybrid model of 1 day onsite per month in Bedfordshire with some flexibility if required.
Responsibilities of the Azure Data Engineer:
- Work with and manage the relationship with the managed service provider
- Develop ETL data pipelines with Azure Data ETL tools such as Data Factory and Databricks.
- Write Python/ Pyspark scripts and T-SQL for Data management/ Lakehouse.
- Lead migrations from on-premises SQL Server to Azure SQL Server
- Building out dashboards to meet stakeholder requirements.
Requirements of the Azure Data Engineer:
- Proven experience moving large complex data sets from on-prem SQL Server to Azure Cloud.
- Must have the ability to script in Python/ Pyspark
- Strong understanding of Synapses and Azure analytics
- Completed Data migration ETL projects to migrate data to new replacement systems.
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Warehousing
- Strong attitude, confident sharing your knowledge and ability to communicate with cross function teams.
