We are delighted to partner with one of the UK’s leading providers of newly built affordable housing to recruit an Income Officer on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting tenants and managing rent accounts effectively, ensuring the organisation continues to deliver exceptional service to its communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage income collection for various tenure types within a designated patch while providing outstanding customer care.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding rent accounts and arrears.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and manage rent arrears cases effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Wellbeing Team to support tenants in sustaining their tenancies.
  • Provide expert advice on welfare benefits, Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, and liaise with agencies like CAB.
  • Prepare and present casework for court hearings, representing the organisation as required.
  • Work closely with managing agents and local authorities to ensure a consistent and efficient service.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements related to income collection and arrears recovery.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Income Officer or in debt recovery roles.
  • Strong understanding of arrears recovery, welfare benefits, and court procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A full valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle suitable for business use.
