Electronics Repair Engineer Required

Our client is a British company that designs and manufactures music amplifiers and speaker cabinets. We are seeking a Service Engineer with experience in electronics repair, particularly with Hi-Fi radios or vintage valve TVs.

Electronics Repair Engineer - Position Overview

  • Assess and repair customers' amplifiers.
  • Provide quotes for necessary work.
  • Answer phone calls from customers and offer qualified engineering advice and guidance.
  • Report work undertaken in the internal system.
  • Provide a detailed report to be sent back with the repaired amplifier.
  • Use the internal system to access circuits and diagrams.
  • Communicate with colleagues via the internal Teams system.
  • Answer technical emails.
  • Collect parts needed for repairs from the stores department.
  • Dispose of components following company procedures.
  • Communicate any recurring issues or technical findings to the manager.
  • Always ensure customer and personal safety.
  • Organize workshop stock and tool replenishment.
  • Offer advice and assistance to colleagues as needed.

Electronics Repair Engineer - Position Requirements

  • Ideally holds an Electrical & Electronics qualification (e.g., BTEC Level 3).
  • Experience in repairing vintage Hi-Fi radios or valve TVs.
  • A good working knowledge of valve technology (desirable).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Engineering background.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Milton Keynes.

Electronics Repair Engineer - Position Remuneration

  • Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 (Dependent on experience).
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break; Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break, totalling 39 hours per week.
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days of annual leave, including 4 days for the Christmas shutdown when the factory closes, plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Parking on site.
