Reed are representing an excellent company based in Milton Keynes who are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Accountant/Finance Analyst to play a crucial role in maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting our financial operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to enhancing inventory processes and controls.
Day-to-day of the role:- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory transactions, update the general ledger as required, and perform regular inventory audits and assessments. Produce detailed inventory reports and participate in cycle counts and full count inventories.
- Process Enhancement: Develop or enhance inventory process controls and write or improve process documentation to reflect current operations.
- Reconciliation and Reporting: Research complex transaction histories to reconcile inventory discrepancies. Prepare adjusting ledger or inventory entries according to policies and regulations. Submit routine and ad hoc inventory control related reports, including external audit support and month/quarter/year-end close reporting.
- Collaboration and Support: Provide accounting support to multiple company locations and assist in all month-end closes. Utilize computer systems and software to process or obtain accounting data. Collaborate with Operations and Finance to implement a strong inventory control environment.
- Problem Solving: Respond to enquiries regarding inventories with urgency and employ critical-thinking skills to establish and assess the effectiveness of action plans.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as an Inventory Accountant or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, D365) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, effective communication and interpersonal abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
